Lew Wallace

As mentioned in the June 2002 newsletter, Lew Wallace’s Pou de Ciele has been greatly anticipated. It made an appearance at the July club meeting and at the field for pictures. Lew still hasn't gotten his thumbs ready to fly the 1930’s "Flying Flea," as the plane was called. This model has the same experimental wing design which killed several pilots. Lew doesn't want this to be a similar fate for his pilot. Besides, it took a lot of nerve just to build this thing!

Lew is pictured here with his admiring fan club. These boys were certainly facinated with his work on a 1940's Buccaneer old-timer. Lew says this photo captured the kids eagerness (which he could see but you can't) just right from their posture. What 'ya want to bet that these guys will have there own model plane some day?
