Larry Paxton
His personal nightmare is over! Larry has finished the DARE kit of the Wright Flyer. He studied photos so he could add some further detail to make the plane more authentic. Of note, he included the chain drives and rigging to simulate wing warping. When he showed this fine piece of craftsmanship at the last club meeting, he twice received applause. Other planes have been greatly admired but getting applause was a first. Everyone realized the painstaking effort that had gone into the craft.
Larry is pleased that his son has started showing an interest in modeling airplanes. From a drawing that Andrew made, dad made two models to see if the plane was air worthy before building the electric R/C version. After "show and tell" at a monthly club breakfast meeting, the dynamic duo were off to Andrew's school for a presentation of their efforts.
