This Dallaire Sportster sports a 108 inch wingspan. It was designed in 1936 and flown as a SAM antique. L.A.'s plane is a past national champion and has never placed lower than fifth place in a contest of The Society of Antique Modelers. It is powered by a Fox 60 Eagle 1 non-Schnuerle ported engine. After a very brief takeoff, the plane is guided straight up for 43 seconds, then the motor is shut down. The ship now begins to glide like a sailplane for ten to fifteen or more minutes. It is quite an exciting sight.
