Float Flying
Exciting events for club members are float flies. The summer water is a welcomed break from asphalt heat. In the past, seaplanes and planes with pontoons have been flown off of Percy Priest Lake at the Cook Area. It is possible that Franklin's lake in The Park at Harlinsdale Farm will be the next location, if permission is obtained. This will provide a body of water with fewer hazards and less travel time to get to the site.
As is the case at our field in Edwin Warner Park, only electric powered planes are permitted in the Franklin park. A retrieval boat will be on hand just in case it is needed.
