Flying Club Scrumptious Brownies -- Mary Wallace

1 package (8 squares) Baker’s Unsweetened Chocolate
1 cup butter or margarine
5 eggs
3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans

Melt chocolate and butter in saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly. Cool slightly. Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla in large mixer bowl on high speed for 10 minutes. Blend in chocolate mixture on low speed. Add flour, beating just to blend. Stir in nuts. Spread in greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 375 for 35 to 40 minutes. (Do not overbake.) Cool in pan; then cut into squares.

Makes about 32 brownies. The secret to this recipe may be beating the egg, sugar and vanilla mixture for ten minutes on high. They are wraped individually for the picnics.
