Daily Flight
We fly daily during the week, weather permitting, at the Model Airplane Field at Edwin Warner Park. On any given day, we might be flying glow fuel or electric craft, sailplanes, helicopters, freeflight, or rubber-motored planes. If it's too windy, you might see some kites. Flying hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The field is located in Nashville, TN's Edwin Warner Park, across from the Steeplechase grounds on Old Hickory Blvd. From OHB, turn South at the traffic light onto Vaughn Road, then take the first road to the left. Drive to the end of the road. A map to the field is available as a PDF file.

Monthly Breakfast Meeting
At our Second Tuesday Breakfast, the club meets monthly at the Bellevue Shoney's for socializing and sharing information. After the meeting, we head for the field to fly. The next meeting will be June 10th at 8:30 AM. Non-members are certainly welcome. As we say, "Join us...just for the fun of it!"

Swap Meets
We have had very successful Swap Meets in the past. They are held at the picnic shelter across from the flying field or at the field. Look for an announcement on this Website because another will surely follow -- so prepare to swap, haggle, or barter once again!

Polar Bear Fly
The club annually welcomes the new year with momentary insanity on January 1st. These frostbite defying heroics are preserved on this Website as a true testament of the human spirit. The survivors of the six New Year's Day gatherings can be viewed with great awe starting with the First Annual EWMA Polar Bear Fly. Chili with all the fixin's has become a mainstay of this event. Recipes for chili and desserts have been requested and are published for those interested.

Holiday Fly-Ins and Feasts
A couple of EWMA events don't require the bravery demanded by a Polar Bear Fly. Four shelters are set up for eating lots of BBQ or hot dogs and for socializing on Memorial Day and Labor Day. Both events are free for EWMA members and their families. Some favorite recipes are available for use.

Summer Splash-Ins
Another exciting and relatively new event for club members are Float-Flies. Seaplanes and planes with pontoons find themselves on Percy Priest Lake at the Cook Area. The summer water is a welcomed break from asphalt heat. A map to the Cook Recreation Area where the event is held can be found in a PDF document.

Extreme Flight
The club is branching out into flying objects which normally aren't found at flying fields. An autogyro is one such plane which has some unusual flying characteristics. Radical and experimental designs are starting to be built with mylar and carbon fiber rods with rubber or small electric motors. The club had a first at one of its club meetings: an ornithopter flew inside the meeting room. The club is using an indoor flying area for our more fragile birds. R/C micro flight is starting to be seen indoors and outdoors with the use of actuators as servos. There are two pages featuring these small birds.
