Bryce and Liz Custer

Bryce was too impatient to wait for the retrieval boat to fetch his plane. Liz is making sure he doesn't sink.

Jerry Franks

Retired from AT&T after more than 37 years, Jerry first flew R/C planes around 1965 and got active again after a 40 year lapse. This time around he enjoys flying electrics -- no cleanup. You can tell from the picture that jerry is really taking things easy these days.

Taggart Nadasdi

A flying demonstration by Taggart is being observed by spectators at one of the club's picnics. Note that this youngster is already sporting a EWMA Club cap. EWMA has several new club members who are very young. With the skill they have developed while learning how to fly, they give the veteran flyers a run for their money.

Lew Wallace

Lew is surronded by his admiring fan club. These boys were certainly fascinated with his work on a 1940's Buccaneer old-timer. Lew said this photo captured the kids eagerness (which he could see but you can't) just right from their posture. What 'ya want to bet that these fellows will have their own model plane some day?

Tom Sanford

This full size airplane is a 1947 Swift, tail number 711E. Tom says, "It has been restored to factory specs. She's a sweet little airplane." There is a museum dedicated to the plane in Athens, Tennessee although it was built in Texas. Some interesting history about the craft can be found in the Organization section of the Resources drop down menu of this website. Bet Tom would like to find a R/C model of this bird to also fly?

O. L. and Elsie Shultz

After being away from the hobby for several years, O.L. is back in the sky with his electric models. At 90 years young, who says an older dog can't learn new tricks. O.L. is a full-scale pilot and an avid sailor at Harbor Island Yacht Club on Old Hickory Lake.
